The GCC Difference
Meet the GCC Staff
For over fifty years Grace Childcare Center has offered top quality preschool programs to the community. The center is very proud of our dedicated team of teachers and assistants. Together the staff has over 175 years of experience in the education field. They continue to further their own education by attending workshops, training sessions and college courses in the early childhood education field. Grace Childcare Center teachers value the opportunity to learn new things and implement the latest teaching methods and strategies in the classroom.
Grace Childcare Center exceeds the state licensing regulations by having more than one State of CT certified Head Teacher, and provides enough staff to maintain a teacher to child ratio which is lower than what is mandated by the childcare licensing department of CT.
At all times, Grace Childcare Center has multiple staff members working who are certified in Infant and Child CPR, First Aid and Administration of medications, including Epipens. The center is PEANUT/TREE NUT free in order to create the safest environment for our students with allergies.
We believe that a child learns best within a safe, nurturing environment and we make every effort to keep our facility clean, secure and welcoming. The teachers are dedicated to creating warm, yet stimulating, environments which foster social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Miss Tara- Teacher Full Day Room
I have Masters in Elementary Education and also minored in Psychology. I've been working in classrooms for the past few years and have been at Grace for Three years now, which I really enjoy! As a nurturer, I am sensitive to the children's feelings and individuality and believe it is important to provide guidance and encouragement to them as they gain confidence and independence. I feel fulfilled when a child discovers an accomplishment and says "I did it!"

Mr. Steven- Full Day Afternoon Teacher
This is my First year teaching at Grace Child Care Center. I enjoy teaching children with the knowledge that every child is unique and I'm dedicated to ensure that their individual learning needs are met. I maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for children to play and grow. I treasure sharing each child's excitement and joy as they learn, explore and take their first strides to independence.
Miss Bonnie -Head Teacher Twos School Class
I have been at Grace Childcare Center going on 8 years and have had the pleasure to work in the Two Year old room. I have 20 years experience in Early Childhood Programs, as well as have completed schooling in Child psychology. I feel strongly that children learn through play when exposed to a variety of “hands-on” experiences. I believe that the best discovery and exploration happens at each child’s own pace
Mary Lenoir, Teacher
I have been with Grace Childcare Center since the year 2000 and have been an early childhood teacher for the last 30 years. In that time, I have taught various ages from 2 to 5 year olds. I strive to create a nurturing classroom where all students know they are important. My mission, as a teacher, is to provide the children with an enriched learning environment that responds to the needs of the whole child. I also believe that play in the early childhood classroom is the best foundation for success in their school years to come. Positive play experiences develop positive emotional well-being. My work is child’s play.
