For more then 50 years, Grace Childcare Center has provided families with a warm nurturing preschool environment. Our experienced teachers continue their professional learning through workshops, training and college coursework. Multiple staff members are trained in infant and child CPR, First Aid , and medication administration, including the use of Epipens. Grace Childcare Center is also a peanut-free center. We choose teachers who are loving, caring and dedicated to their profession. Our teachers value each child as an individual and are committed to creating meaningful early-learning experiences.

Miss Wendy- Twos Teacher

I have just about 12 years experience in the preschool classrooms. I have great passion when working with children. It brings me so much joy and love to be able to teach little minds how to explore new things. I'm honored to help create a nurturing and joyful school foundation for our kiddos!

Mary Merly

 Mary holds a Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts and Psychology and is a Certified Head Teacher and Director with the State of Connecticut. During her 30 years as a teacher and administrator, she spent 15 years leading a preschool classroom where she developed an individualized program drawing from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, creative arts, and other early-childhood approaches. Her broader experience includes directing theatrical productions for children, leading a program supporting grieving children and their families and serving on the committee that developed the Diocese of Bridgeport Early Leaning Standards. This varied background informs her collaborative leadership at Grace and her commitment to nurturing environments that respect each child's individual developmental path. 

Miss Peggy- Teacher in Full Day Room

I have been teaching since Summer 2018, I am the Office Manager of Grace Lutheran Church. I have my Bachelors degree in Consumer and Family studies and also have two children of my own. I absolutely enjoy being apart of our students first journey of studies. They really bring so much joy in my life and I look forward to seeing their smiling faces every morning!

Miss Tara- Teacher Full Day Room

I have Masters in Elementary Education and also minored in Psychology. I've been working in classrooms for the past few years and have been at Grace for Three years now, which I really enjoy! As a nurturer, I am sensitive to the children's feelings and individuality and believe it is important to provide guidance and encouragement to them as they gain confidence and independence. I feel fulfilled when a child discovers an accomplishment and says "I did it!"

Mr. Steven- Full Day Afternoon Teacher
I will be going into by 2nd year teaching at Grace Child Care Center. I enjoy teaching children with the knowledge that every child is unique and I'm dedicated  to ensure that their individual learning needs are met. I maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for children to play, learn, and grow. I treasure sharing each child's excitement and joy as they learn and explore while they take their first strides to independence.
